Loosely inspired by Marie Antoinette and her love for tall hair and desserts.

I've been doing a bit of drawing in my free time, I'm trying to grow creatively and expand the types of things I do. I finally had to go out and buy a new set of colored pencils, I had worn mine down to nubs. I need to photograph one day the amount of pencils I actually have, it has to be well over 200.

Amanda over at Bear and Bird took some really nice photos of all the stuff from the show, which is great because I totally forgot to take some nice photos of my plush.

The names of the plush basically came from the whole stigma against Ewoks, that they're too cute for Star Wars and what not. So He's got a little sad face one, where as the little one reflects my love for Ewoks. I don't mind them at all haha, yeah they're cute, but who cares. So he's got a little smiley on.

This is the second in a series of drawings I'm doing based on characters I love from different films, television shows, or anything really. The Royal Tenenbaums, directed by Wes Anderson, has always been on of my favorite movies. When I thought about which character i'd draw from the movie it was no question that it would be Margot. I drew her here smoking a cigarette, her wooden finger, and standing in Richie's living room gallery. The quote comes from the movie, the narrator says it about Margot in the beginning.

Ghost World

This is the first in a series of drawings I’m doing based on characters I love from different films, television shows, or anything really. I'm really excited for this series because I'm doing it completely for my self, not for an art show or a commission. It's been a while since I just draw for the joy of creating something. Next on my list is Margot Tenenbaum from The Royal Tenenbaums by Wes Anderson. I'm not sure if I'm going to draw Richie or Chaz yet, we'll see how it goes.

Custom chucks show

Pinkghost custom chucks show! took place on Saturday, May 16th.

Yesterday was the custom chucks show over at Pinkghost, it was a great turn out. There was a live band and a lot of people coming to see the great shoes. My favorites were definitely by 64 colors, Helena Garcia, and Janice Lumm. The shoes should be avalible for purchase on Pinkghost.net sometime soon. So make sure to check that out.

I found this in the back of my closet, would anyone want it custom painted for them by any chance. I can do likeness or a character involving whatever you'd like. Accessories it comes with are: the angel wings, visor, frying pan, and money stack. While I'm updating, today I dropped off a pair of shoes I painted for Pink Ghost's new show. It's a custom converse show, which I didn't plan on entering anything but lately I've been wearing my beat up old chucks from high school a lot. I had a pair of all black chucks I bought ages ago but never actually broke them in, so I decided to use them for the show. I painted on the shoes with a mix of fabric and acrylic paint, added some pyramid studs onto the front because this monster is punk rock, and sewed the legs and toes with fabric made from recycled materials.

I'll get better pictures of them at the show, I forgot to before I dropped them off, oopsies.

ME ME ME ME ME Show.

The show over at Bear and Bird went really well, there were so many people there it was crazy. It was great to meet some of the other artists and meet a few people that appreciate my art. My friends Paige, Kerry, and Andrew were also in the show.

Twice a year Bear and Bird opens up its gallery walls to each and every local artist that wishes to participate in their 'all locals' shows. The theme of our upcoming exhibition is self portraits. It will surely be an interesting sight to see the various faces of South Florida's artists ammassed in one location! Previous 'all locals' shows have included up to 200 artists!

This is a portrait I was commissioned to do, the background is supposed to be like a night landscape on acid, a really cute acid trip.

I got around to opening my Etsy last night. Right now there is only a few pieces of original art that I had left over that didn't sell from art shows, I still have to add original plushes, pins, and tote bags.

I'm considering putting limited prints on there because I've found that in the past my prints have sold the most out of anything else I've had for sale.

Self Portrait, "Bee"

Here is the final piece framed for the Me Me Me Me Me Self Portrait show at bear and bird, which I'm really excited about. I always find self portraits to be so fun and a lot of my favorite artists and friends are going to be showing in the show. I need to go drop it off sometime before monday, and the opening is on april 18th.

The frame is a wooden frame made in italy sometime in the 70s according the the inscription on the back. I got it in a garage sale a few years ago, I tend to just buy nice frames I see for future use. I glued a pendant of a bee I had on the bottom to go along with the name of the piece, "bee."

A sneak peak

I've been working on a new piece for the upcoming show at bear and bird. The name of the show is Me Me Me Me Me and it's a group self portrait show. I'll be putting up a clearer scan of the actual piece and then a photo of it inside the frame once it's finished. For now I'm posting a preview of it.

On the left is the original sketch and on the right is what it looks like now, it's pretty much done but I have to clean up some lines and then put a clear coat over it because the frame I'm using doesn't have a glass. I'm happy with how it looks.
